parrot blabber

hello! please sorry my english
i’m a parrot of many few words
just simple ones to go by here now
are you give me your papaya?

please forgive my clumse
i also wobble a lot
i grew on ships as a tot, hello!
the seawaves still give me sick
ohh noo. what was i say?

please forgiven my words
i learned english from a seal
he taught many few words to me
and was much better good at art

so i beg this pardon for me now
do excuse my tongue, hello!
i’m a parrot of many few words
and i need your papaya to eat

bosons

may i please borrow some bosons?

because without particulate matter i am dead
in fact i will cease to be
my mind will be clear and my spirit quite free
but the world will be minus a fred

i don’t need that many, but i do need a few
just a handful perhaps, how ’bout three?
one to laugh, another to sing,
and third so i can ask all the questions i ask all the time to everyone i see wherever i am

that will complete what is me.

aversions

i once knew a calico cat
he spent all his time chasing rats
rats eat garbage and carry diseases
i don’t want to be a cat

i once tried to mimic a frog
by sitting all day on a log
it was so boring i thought i might croak
i don’t want to be a frog

i once shared a bus with an owl
we hooed at the riders who scowled
knowing only one word is really boring
i don’t want to be an owl

i once toured the sea with a shark
we didn’t find much it was dark
you can’t even see the stars at night
i don’t want to be a shark

when history repeats itself itself

the memory is pure, but it’s just a flashback borrowed:
a strong link to the past, but a weak one to tomorrow.

the picture is clear, but it’s just a glimpse deranged:
nothing’s really different, yet everything has changed.

the meaning is real, but it’s just a carbon copy:
identical on the surface, but underneath it’s sloppy.

the thought is deep, but it’s just ol’ déjà vu:
ancient is the memory, but the circumstance is new.

when history repeats itself, we’re quick to place the blame,
lessons learned gleaned nothing, and time produced the same.

but take a closer look – today is not the past –
and chart a new path forward where the opportunities are vast…

“History is the only laboratory we have in which to test the consequences of thought.” – Etienne Gilson

perfects, primes, and planets

a simple poem with a significant end
get the result, and perhaps you’re a friend
so riddle me this, riddle me that,
use pen and paper and your best thinking cap…

let’s start you off, here’s one for the money
in chinese it’s death, unlucky but funny

the seventh fibonacci should be easy to see
but if that’s too hard then take two to the three

now keep the dwarf in the orbital loop,
give me a count of our planetary group

a champion of numbers, a winner of sort,
when one has won and they’re top of their sport

then something to fathom, the star is divine
or give me a width of a vitruvian kind

now how bout a gimme, a favorite of mine
this one’s the one only even prime

and last but not least, i hope you’re awake
the first perfect is this keplerian snowflake

now put them together, from bottom to top
a day in my life – big thanks, mom and pop!

life’s keys

life’s keys
by kevin berardinelli
october 20, 2009

There’s a key to being happy
etched deep within your soul
to find this key and use it
should be your lifelong goal

It’ll open doors to friendship
and show the world you care
life is only as pleasant
as the smiles that you share

There’s a key to finding love
found deep within your heart
the thump and beat will echo
when shot with Cupid’s dart

Although the road’s not easy
and the signs are never clear
embrace the path to get there
and the key will soon appear

There’s a key to growing old
found deep within your mind
a key to understanding
that starts with being kind

A simple thought or question
or lending a helping hand
reminds us that we’re all
a part of something grand

Though these keys may seem absurd
and taxing to obtain
the lesson here is crucial
and actually very plain

Look deep within your self
for guidance every day
your heart and mind and soul
will ne’er lead you astray

forgetfulness is funny

i remember i was here
in this place at some time
the faces look familiar
though the memory i can’t find

i rummage through my brain
i think i’m getting near
and something sounds familiar
but the picture isn’t clear

did we exchange some words?
was i laughing at the time?
and now i stand confused,
rather chuckling at my mind

well i guess i’ll give it up
and move on to something new
forgetfulness is funny
so thank you, déjà vu
